Who I am

Hi, my name is Aaron.

I am an aspiring chef specialising in bakery, patisserie, and chocolate artistry, with a passion for creating desserts that bring together flavour, comfort, creativity, and beauty. For me, food has always been more than something to eat - it is an experience that can bring people together, create emotion, and leave a lasting memory.

My journey began through studying food technology and discovering a natural love for the artistry behind baking and pastry. What started as curiosity quickly became a genuine passion, leading me into professional culinary training where I developed my skills across hospitality, bakery, and fine patisserie. From the very beginning, I was drawn to the creative freedom that desserts allow - the ability to combine flavour, texture, and presentation into something truly special.

Over the years, my career has taken me abroad to Portugal and Switzerland, where I had the privilege of working alongside exceptional pastry chefs and renowned chocolatiers. Being immersed in different culinary cultures pushed me to grow not only technically, but creatively, teaching me the precision, discipline, and artistry behind world-class pastry and chocolate work.

Working with chocolate especially opened a completely new world for me - one that felt both challenging and therapeutic. Learning how different cacao origins carry their own distinct personalities inspired me to create desserts with balance, depth, and character, whether through delicate pastries, handcrafted chocolates, or elegant plated desserts.

Today, I continue to refine my craft and push my creativity further, always striving to create desserts that feel exciting, comforting, and memorable - desserts that people don’t just taste, but truly experience.

What do I do?

Currently, I’m a Junior Chocolatier while also taking on a Chef de Partie role at my current job. However, I’m looking to continue my journey within chocolate and bakery, where I can truly shine.

My current role allows me to learn more about the industry from the culinary side of things, as well as about myself as a person - patience within yourself, trust in the process, and love for what you do. Turning up to work every day knowing you are playing your part in making sure people are well fed and positively impacting their day through a good meal is incredibly rewarding.

As I specialise in the “sweet stuff,” I believe I can turn someone’s sour day sweet through the enjoyment of my baked goods and confectionery.

What are my goals?

In the future, I hope to build my own business - whether that be a dessert lounge or a small food shop centred around what I like to call comfort food. My goal is to create food that brings warmth, happiness, and a sense of comfort to people’s lives.

Above all, I want my food to brighten the days of those who may be going through difficult or dull moments. I believe food has the power to bring people together, lift moods, and create lasting memories.
